| One of the
civilian tasks undertaken at RAF camps across Britain is the control and
monitoring of energy - ie. electricity, water and gas usage site-wide.
|
Using its
Landmark radio telemetry system,
Alphr Telemetry have come up with a solution which
allows all consumption to be monitored from a single point without the need for
running cables around the camp.
Each water, gas or electric meter is connected
directly into a Landmark's pulse input. This data is then transmitted to the
central monitoring point - usually the Energy Officer's office - and logged
within a miniature datalogger.
|
 |
This information is then uploaded to a PC at 7 o'clock every
morning, ready to be analysed each day.
Savings made by this system meant that it had paid for itself
within months as well as having detected previously unknown water leaks and
areas of wasteful gas and electricity usage.
