REPEATER |
|||
| Specification | |||
The
Landmark Repeater is used to extend a radio link, or to divert the link around
obstacles or difficult terrain.
| |||
| Operation | |||
| The Repeater consists of a
Landmark Transmitter and Receiver back-to-back, linked by an RS232 serial
connection. The Receiver monitors the radio frequency for data. Once received the validity and addressing of the data is checked. If the data is valid, and its address matches that set on the Repeater, the data is passed to the Transmitter part of the Repeater where the data is re-transmitted.
| Features | |||
| As the Repeater carries
out a data check before re-transmitting the data, it will actually enhance the
quality of the link as well as improving the range. The Repeater can be set to repeat all transmitters or only certain addresses. This selectivity prevents unnecessary re-transmission of signals keeping the airwaves as clear as possible.
